Founded in 1961 by Shri H K Bhatnagar (Founder Head).Later on Shri B S Jadon,Dr Gorakh Nath(selected by the UP Higher Education Commission in January 1990),Shri Divesh Singh joined the dept. in September 2008. Chandra Mohan Bidalia has been the lab assistant since 1965.
The Dept. at most has following specialized subjects: Art of Warfare in India, Principles of War Organisation, Armed Forces and Nation Security.
Shri Vijay Mohan Gaur has completed his Ph.D. under Dr. Gorakh Nath on the topic entitled, “Scenario of the South Asia Security and the Role of External Power”. Shri Divesh Singh (Assist.Prof.) in the same Dept. at most is pursuing his Ph.D. under the co-guideship of Dr. Gorakh Nath. His topic being- ‘Reformation of Security Council and the Role of India as a Permanent Member’.Under -Graduate students can access a well equipped Laboratory. In the current year 115 students have opted for Defence at BA/BSc - I, 85students at BA/BSc -II while 67students at BA/BSc -III levels.2 Students are pursuing for their Ph. D./D.Phil. degree.
The Department has 100% results. Many of the Alumni members are serving in Uttarakhand Government and the Government of India in prestigious positions. Presently, Dr. Divesh Singh of the Department is pursuing a Minor Research Project of the UGC. |
